Name: Chloe
Age: 17
With LTS since: 2009
Status: LTS Youth “A Team” :: Competition Track

Chloe is a senior in a special arts high school, majoring in dance.

She has been always deeply involved in sports and is already an accomplished athlete. Chloe started at the age of three as a competitive artistic gymnast. At age ten she took her first big decision as an athlete and switched to rhythmic gymnastics.

The decision turned to be a very good one and she became a part of the provincial champion team. Chloe later competed in the Ontario Winter Games and again finished first!

After two and a half years, due to an injury she had to switch gears again and got involved in dancing which she enjoyed very much.

Another injury forced her to undergo corrective surgery in 2007 but soon after she was right back to the local gym to get back in shape.  As people who know her would expect, she again took it a step further and picked up boxing, under professional guidance of her coach, a past Olympian. For the next year she became engaged with boxing until her education needed full attention.

In March of this year, Chloe accompanied her brother and dad out to a shooting range “after much begging and groveling”, to try out trap shooting and she has been enraptured ever since.

Chloe is now a full member of LearnTrapshooting.ca Youth Development “A Team” and is ready to enter the competition arena in Ontario and plans to attend a few major ATA tournaments in the US.

Other than trap shooting Chloe’s interests include snowboarding, wakeboarding and reading. Her favourite place in the world is a tie between the family cottage and British Columbia, which she recently discovered last summer while participating in a Marine Biology course. She hopes to find a career in computer science at an undecided university (“ask me again in a month” she says).

From all of us here at LearnTrapshooting.ca, we extend Chloe a warm welcome and congratulate her on making the “A Team” in such a short time. You are a pleasure to coach and an asset to our team. We are looking forward to your accomplishments, both on and off-range!

Name: Garret
Age         16
Height      5"10
Weight     143 lbs
Shoots     Left
With LTS since: 2009
Status: LTS Youth “A Team” :: Competition Track

Garret MacDonald, a blue eyed kid that attends Erindale Secondary School where he is active in many activities. Garret plays rugby for school and is also involved in many other clubs. Garret is in love with all sports, and learned to skate before he could walk.

Garret has been playing hockey for over 10 years and has played at different levels. He enjoys travelling as well as going to Newfoundland where he spent summers on his own and with his grandparents. It is no surprise that Garret moved on in his sports career and found two new sports: horseback riding and boxing. Although Garret tries to keep up with horseback riding he continues to box regularly. Led by a past olympian, Garret strives to keep in top shape and keep his boxing training up to date. His idol he looks up to is Mohammed Ali, the greatest boxer who ever lived.

Garret is also an avid hunter. He enjoys going out with his father and spending the day out in the field or on the marsh. The whole reason he got into trapshooting was to improve his hunting experience. Recieving a new gun for Christmas, Garret went out to the range to try it out. He soon took lessons to improve and eventually progressed quickly and became the star athelete he is today.

Apart from all the sports and shooting, Garret does well in school. An honours student Garret aspires to go far in his career by going into medicine. Garret has also held a couple of jobs in the past. His most recent job was working full time on a dairy farm out in Smith Falls. The experience was rewarding after completing a summer of 12 hour work days seven days a week.

When Garret is not active in his many activities, he is at the range, dilligently working to improve his skill. Through sheer determination and the desire to be the best there is, he steadily increases his ability and technique. Big things are expected from this 16 year old kid and big things is what we will get.

Welcome Garret to LearnTrapshooting.ca "A Team". Keep up the good work, positive attitude and good humor! Looking forward to watching you "smoking'em" all! :)
